About Me

I am a London-based private gastroenterologist specialising in endoscopy, neurogastroenterology, GI physiology, and abdominal ultrasound. I trained at world-class institutions and diagnose and treated conditions such as IBS, abdominal pain, bloating, heartburn, constipation, diarrhoea, and difficulty swallowing.

I perform high-volume endoscopy of the oesophagus, stomach and colon every year. This helped me establish my technique to deliver high-quality and thorough examinations while keeping the discomfort to a minimum level. I use innovative techniques such as transnasal endoscopy and underwater colonoscopy to minimise discomfort.

My other passion is digestive ultrasound. During my training in Europe, I was trained to perform advanced ultrasound of the abdomen. I am a firm believer that ultrasound is a part of the clinical examination in specialised gastroenterology clinic. I find it helpful to see live images of your liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen and other organs. I find office ultrasound saves time and enriches my patients’ experience. If you are looking for a private gastroenterologist in London, please see my practice locations.

Doctor – Medic 2012 Universitatea de Medicina si Farmacie “Grigore T Popa”, PhD ‘Central Modulation of Visceral Pain Hypersensitivity’ University of London, PG certificate General Medical Ultrasound – King’s College London

I was also awarded a postgraduate certificate (with merits) in general medical ultrasound from King’s College London. I currently hold a substantive consultant position at Barts Health, Royal London and Whipps Cross hospitals which I joined as a consultant back in 2018.

I continue to be actively involved in teaching and research. I currently hold an Honorary Senior Clinical Lectureship at Queen Mary University of London (The Wingate Institute for Neurogastroenterology, Barts and The London School of Medicine). I am also a private gastroenterologist in London.
