Experience
I perform a high volume of dermatologic surgical procedures, with particular expertise in the removal of moles, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, epidermoid cysts, lipomas, genital warts, peri-anal skin tags, and hypertrophic or post-surgical scars. Integral to my practice is the comprehensive skin examination, including dermoscopic (a specialised handheld microscope with polarised light that allows dermatologists to examine skin lesions in much greater detail than with the naked eye), evaluation of moles and lesions for early detection and accurate diagnosis of skin cancers and other abnormalities. My surgical approach is grounded in oncologic precision, aesthetic consideration, and patient comfort.
In addition to dermatosurgery, my practice encompasses a broad spectrum of medical and aesthetic dermatologic services. I manage patients with acne and acne scarring, supporting them in achieving clearer skin and restoring a healthy, radiant complexion. Qualifications
Qualified as a medical doctor in 1997 at Philipps-Universität Marburg, Germany.
Awarded a research-based doctoral degree (Dr. med.) by Philipps-University Marburg in 2000, following the successful submission and defense of an original dissertation entitled “Course of Blaschko’s Lines on the Head and Neck,” and completion of a rigorous oral examination, earning the distinction Magna Cum Laude for outstanding scientific competence.
In March 2007, Dr. Assim was formally awarded board certification as a Specialist in Skin and Venereal Diseases by the Saxony-Anhalt Medical Association, following completion of specialist training in Dermatology and Venereology at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, Germany.
In May 2013, Dr. Assim was formally awarded the additional designation in Allergology by the North Rhine Medical Association (Ärztekammer Nordrhein), following the successful completion of a structured two-year subspecialty training programme in Germany, with a focus on advanced diagnostic evaluation and therapeutic management of complex allergic disorders.
In November 1999, Dr. Assim received formal certification in Emergency Medical Services (Rettungsdienst) from the Medical Association of Saarland (Ärztekammer des Saarlandes), following the successful completion of the required training and assessment criteria for medical proficiency in pre-hospital emergency care.
In June 2002, Dr. Assim completed a certified laser training course in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the German Society for Laser Medicine (DGLM) and the German Society for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (DGPW).
In December 2003, Dr. Assim completed a certified laser safety and application course in aesthetic medicine in Magdeburg, fulfilling official requirements for laser safety officers and gaining practical expertise in dermatological laser treatments.
In March 2004, Dr. Assim completed a certified foundational ultrasound course in dermatologic sonography—covering the skin, subcutis, and regional lymph nodes—at the Department of Dermatology and Venereology, Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. This course adhered to the guidelines of the German Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (DEGUM) and the Federal Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KBV). Building on this, in March 2005, she successfully completed the advanced certification course and final examination in the same discipline at the same institution. The course included submission and evaluation of 200 independent diagnostic cases and fulfilled all KBV and DEGUM standards, formally qualifying her to independently perform dermatologic ultrasound investigations.
