Professor Prasanna Sooriakumaran (Prof PS)

Professor Prasanna Sooriakumaran—widely known as Prof PS—is one of the world’s foremost urologists and prostate cancer surgeons. Recognised in a Daily Mail peer poll as one of the Top 10 Urologists in Britain, and the only urologist featured in the Evening Standard’s list of London’s Most Influential Doctors, he is a highly respected figure in British and international urology. Prof PS brings world-class training and experience to LSDC Healthcare, having completed prestigious fellowships at Cornell University, the Karolinska Institute, and the University of Oxford. He has received over 30 international awards for his contributions to urology and cancer care, including a National Clinical Impact Award in 2024 for excellence that goes beyond standard clinical practice. He is the only urologist globally to be appointed Visiting Professor at the University of Oxford and the only London-based urologist awarded a Master of Arts by resolution from the same institution. His academic work focuses on improving patient-centred outcomes in urology and has helped shape global best practices in prostate cancer care. Alongside his academic and clinical achievements, Prof PS has held influential leadership roles including at NICE, Cleveland Clinic London, and several health tech and innovation initiatives. He was instrumental in establishing robotic urology services at multiple institutions and continues to lead in the integration of innovation and AI in prostate cancer treatment.
