About me

Professor Ali Ghoz is an internationally recognised Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist focus in complex hip and knee procedures. With a commitment to clinical excellence and innovation, Professor Ghoz has developed a distinguished career in both the NHS and private sectors, delivering outstanding patient outcomes in joint preservation and reconstruction.

 

He commenced his surgical training at the esteemed Yorkshire School of Surgery and progressed to secure a highly competitive National Training Number within the Yorkshire Deanery. In 2011, he was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in Trauma and Orthopaedics. Complementing his surgical expertise, Professor Ghoz holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Musculoskeletal Sciences from the University of Oxford, further underscoring his academic and clinical distinction.

 

Professor Ghoz has extensive experience in all aspects of primary and complex revision hip and knee surgery. His clinical practice includes muscle-sparing anterior hip replacement, hip resurfacing, partial and total knee replacement, as well as computer-navigated and robotic-assisted joint procedures. He also specialises in arthroscopic hip and knee surgery and soft tissue reconstruction, offering a comprehensive approach to joint care.

 

His advanced surgical training includes prestigious fellowships in Adult Hip and Knee Reconstructive Surgery at the Royal Berkshire Hospital (UK, 2013) and the Australian Orthopaedic Association-accredited fellowship in Arthroplasty, Arthroscopy, and Sports Medicine at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney (Australia, 2014).

 

A dedicated academic and educator, Professor Ghoz has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented at leading national and international orthopaedic conferences. He actively contributes to the development of the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons through his involvement in high-level teaching, including the renowned Oxford University Miller Orthopaedic Review Course.

 

In addition to his UK practice, Professor Ghoz holds Visiting Professorships in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery at Chisinau University Hospital and Deraya University.
